Ski toured in Rogers Pass for the second day of training camp. After practicing our alder and creek crossing skills we made it to the snow! A nice easy climb in the crisp cold air brought us up on the ridge. A decent ski down North Bowl provided some pow, wind affected snow and avalanche debris to keep you on your toes! #rogerspass #illbeback #skitouring #skimo #skimocanada
The first day of training camp this past weekend brought us Lactate Threshold Testing on the incline trainer and then a spicy (rocks!) ski up and down the terrain just outside of Kicking Horse Resort. It was nice to catch up with some of my team mates as we prepare for the coming Ski Mountaineering Race season! Lactate Threshold Testing involved walking up the incline treadmill at 30% with an increase in speed every three minutes, while wearing a heart rate monitor and having small samples of blood taken at each stage. Coach Travis analyzed our blood samples at each three minute mark and then let us know our ideal heart rate training zones for the season. Yay! Thanks @personal_peak! #trainsmarternotharder #skimocanada #trainingcamp #villageskihutteam #whitewaterathlete #moresnowplease
First skin rip pic of the season! Thanks @peteyknight5! Members of the Canadian National Ski Mountaineering Team were out training this weekend in Golden and Rodgers Pass. Happy we caught the sunlight in the Dogtooth Range before we descended the gnar. #skiingrocks #dangerville #skinrippic #skimocanada
Snow continues to collect up high! Sun is great. So is powder. Hoping for more precipitation soon! #keepdancing #winteriscoming #nuunlife
